Turkey Meatballs in Marinara Sauce

Serves 7 people
315 calories per serving of 3 meatballs
Ingredients
- 1 Large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Oregano
- 2 cloves of Minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons Water
- 3 tablespoons Finely chopped fresh basil
- 3 tablespoons Minced onion
- 2/3 cup Dried Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/3 cup Freshly grated Pecorino Romano cheese
- 1 1/3 lb 92% Lean ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 24 oz Rao’s marinara sauce
Method
- Whisk first 7 ingredients in large bowl.
- Add next 4 ingredients and mix til thoroughly combined.
- Wet hands to keep mixture from sticking and shape into 21 golf ball sized balls.
- Fry in non stick fry pan in olive oil til browned on all sides, about 7-8 minutes.
- Pour marinara sauce over meatballs and bring to a low boil.
- Turn down heat to a simmer and cover fry pan and continue to cook for 15 minutes.
- Serve with pasta or make meatball sandwiches.
Tips
These are great to make on a weekend and get a couple different meals out of or freeze for later.
